Full-Time Teaching Assistant

This position involves working as aide for a delightful 12-year-old boy with autism who needs help fitting into a classroom setting. The school is a small, specialized school for children with autism and complex learning disabilities. There are 10 students per class with a special education teacher and 2 other teaching assistants. Bittersweet Farms currently has 8 openings in the Day Vocational/Habilitation Program. These openings are for adults with autism who might enjoy working in a farm-like atmosphere and enjoy crafts, gardening, animals, a community of partnership and the opportunity to envision their fullest potential. Potential participants must have either an individual options waiver, level one waiver, self-determination funds or currently be receiving services in one of the Lucas, Fulton, or Ottawa County Board programs.
